WORLD GATEBALL UNION HAS HOLD ITS 45TH BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETTING
The 45th Board of Directors Meeting was held in Niigata Japan on September 26th, 2014.
This meeting was held with the 11th World Gateball Championship, and had 15 participants including the chairperson of WGU, Ms. Ono. The discussion was about 1) reviewing the official Gateball rules, 2) Team limits for the World Gateball Championship, and 3) The venue for the next World Gateball Championship which will be held in 2018.
The reviewing of the official Gateball rules were approved as the WGU office has submitted. The new rule will be starting from April 2015, so we will start making documents (such as new rule books) now.
As for the team limits for the World Gateball Championship, due to the circumstances of having a hard time collecting 96 teams, the decision has been made to make the basic team numbers to 64.
And finally, the topic for the next venue of the World Gateball Championship which will be held in 2018, we had several candidates for it. The final decision will be made by the chairperson. This will take time by adjusting several conditions.
I would like to conclude this report with the comment from the attendants. After the board of directors meeting they had a chat of their organization’s Gateball activities, and they had the same difficulties which was to attract young players and to grow numbers of Gateball players in general. |
