“The 7th Asian Cities Gateball Invitational Championship in Hong Kong” was hosted by the Hong Kong China Gateball Association at the Kowloon Bay Sports Ground (natural grass court) from December 5 (Sat) to December 6 (Sun), 2015.

The total number of participating team was 36 teams: 4 teams from Japan, 5 from Chinese Taipei, 12 from China, 4 from Macao China, 2 from Singapore, and 9 from the local Hong Kong China.

The tournament matches played between the top two teams of each group followed the league matches (4 groups of 5 teams / 4 groups of 4 teams).

As a result, the teams receiving prizes were as determined below:

“Gold class”
First place: Macau Ying Yan gateball team《澳門英燕門球隊》(Macao China)
Second place: 嘉協和平隊(Chinese Taipei)
Third place: Hong Kong China 9 team (Hong Kong China)
Fourth place: Hong Kong China 4 team(Hong Kong China)

“Silver class”
First place: Hong Kong China 5 team(Hong Kong China)
Second place: 嘉協長青隊(Chinese Taipei)
Third place: 深圳市南山區門球隊(China)
Fourth place: 嘉協三興隊(Chinese Taipei)

The Japan teams, “JAPAN SHIGA”coming from Shiga Prefecture and “JAPAN SENDAI” from Miyagi Prefecture, moved into the tournament and unfortunately lost in the first-round match.  However, both of women-driven teams were dead-evenly as good as the teams receiving prizes and it would have been no wonder that they had been higher-ranking winners.

Also, the judgement was left to the judges of Hong Kong China.  Finding that some judges were young, we had the impression that judges' training has been steadily advanced.
