The first promotion of GTBL in India and Nepal
Gateball Federation of India (GFI) started its activity in full speed. GFI organized
the National Coaching Camp for Officials and Referees in June, 2003 and “The
1st National GTBL Championship”at the same time. Also Indian teams participated
in “the 2003 WGU Chairman Cup International GTBL Championships”held in Chinese
Taipei for the first time in November. In addition, they approached neighboring
country Nepal, and supported the GTBL Organization start-up. On this occasion,
Japan Gateball Union executed the spread activity in India with 16 instructors.

INDIA |
The spread in India is advanced with each club,
and GB players are almost young people. |
The 2nd Indian National Championships was held in Nagpur City on January 23
- 26.
22 teams, 450 players participated from each state in the games, and the victory
was decided for both men and women individually.
Because the spread is advanced with each club in India around the student, most
of the players are one's twenties or one's teens. In games there were a lot of
game developments to which passing gates were made to give priority more than
the strategy because of a technological valuing.
Moreover, the demonstration and the technical guidance of the game were done by
Japanese players. Young people that attended a lecture, learned the technique
quickly, and excelled especially in the sensibility of touch. However, it was
surprised by the GTBL spread in India advancement more than the imagination. It
can have the great thrill of expectation in the extension of the GTBL in India.
India will grow up to the GTBL large country like China.

Introduction of the local coordinator
Mr. Daisuke Yoshioka
"Himalaya Youth Scholarship Foundation"
It was Mr. Yoshioka that coordinated the spread activity in Nepal. (Left of the
photograph) He is doing the volunteer work, support of the poor youth in the local.
He made an effort to let the children find pleasure and the enjoyment in playing
GTBL in cooperation with Japan Gateball Union. There was not able to be a success
in this spread activity without His effort. 16 people participated from Japan
were made to be impressed by the appearance that children left in adversity did
GTBL brightly and energetically. Thanks a lot! |
