To promote the popularization of Gateball among the younger generation and provide an opportunity for international exchange,
The 3rd International Junior GB Meet 2009 was held in Saitama prefecture on Aug.10 after the14th Japan Jr. GB Championships.
Russian and South Korean junior teams participated in. And14 local Japanese teams.
First up were the preliminary 4teams league matches, then the team had good result went up the final league.
As for Russian and South Korean j teams, the GB skills are high, but they are not good at tactics yet.
They were a little bit nervous at artificial court, but in second league games they accustomed to it. They both got 2 games win in second league.
Finally in the forth league, South Korean team got 1st prize.
Russian team got 2nd prize.
In this Meet foreign teams members were nervous at first, but gradually they became friendly with Japanese young players. Taking pictures and exchanging e-mail address.

“Kenyu-kai"(Hiroshima Pre.), which had got 3rd place on the 14th Junior GB Championships, got 1 prize.

第1回大会出場時と同様、サハリンの青少年スポーツ学校に所属する選抜メンバーによる「OLIMP」チームが来日。うち、3人が新メンバー。新しく設けられた天然芝の練習場で週3日、3~4時間の練習に励んでいる
As well as participating the 1st International Junior GB Meet 2007, Team “OLIMP” that belongs to the youth sports club in Sakhalin comes to Japan. They have been practicing for 3-4 hours, every 2 days on the natural lawn court renewed.

The participating team is a high school student team that constantly wins in the domestic junior Games.

「Nam Won Jeil High School」team from the South district of South Korean. This school GB club is a strong team in South Korea. Constantly the team wins good place in every domestic GB Games.

Having training camp in the Asaka high school in Saitama prefecture after the Meet,
And hold the GB practice together.
 

After the Meet, Russian team moveed to Asaka city of Saitama Pref.
They had training camp in the Asaka high school with Japanese young players, and hold the GB practice together.
The 3 days training camp was achieved by cooperation of the Asaka high school this time. A Russian team did the training camp in same high school until Wednesday, August 12.
In the training camp, Russian player spend 3 days with Japanese junior players exceeding the language barrier. They had a good experience and understood each other.
