Russian young gateball players
visit to Hokkaido,
Japan in the gateball exchange
On August 31-September 1 Russian teams participated in “Birth Place Cup all Japan
Gateball Game” held at Memuro, Hokkaido Prefecture for the first time. The 12
members came from Sakhalin, Russia.
JGU visited Sakhalin three times with gateball players of Hokkaido and promoted
gateball there. This time JGU invited two Russian teams to Hokkaido. They enjoyed
the games and had international cultural exchanges.
Still though the strategy and technique are stages of the ABC, every time a lot
of spectators were seen in the game of a Russian team and they were warmly cheered.
Team leader Polukarova Nadezda said,“Many senior people are playing gateball
in Japan. When I come back home I want to coach older people at GB in Sakhalin,
too.” |
