Tottori GB devotees make friendship visit to Auckland A party of 6, including former Tottori GB Association Vice-President, Mr. Uchida, visited New Zealand, June 13 -19
The group first visited Takapuna Croquet Club in Auckland. The group together with approximately 20 members (oldest 92, youngest 14-year-old boy) formed 5 teams and enjoyed 4 games on the beautifully prepared natural grass court. Though Takapuna's tactics were orthodox, their touch was perfect because of their croquet technique. After the games, everyone had an enjoyable time chatting at a tea party with cookies and fruit.
The following day, the group visited the Rotorua Croquet Club in Rotorua. With 5 members from Takapuna, a group of about 20 played 4 games with lunch.Rotorua had played GB until about 5 ? 6 years ago and have begun to play it again recently. The Japanese group gave instruction while playing. They also exchanged badges and donated sticks. They also made a promise to return before leaving.
In New Zealand, croquet is the main sport of the two, however, elderly croquet players enjoy GB. It is hoped that with further instruction GB will develop.

A firm promise is made to Rotorua Croquet Club which has recently started to play GB again to give instruction in the future
