The 10th South American Gateball Championships Held In Argentina
The South American Championships which are held once every two years were held
on September 29, 30 in Buenos Aires. 120 teams from 6 countries (13 teams from
Brazil, 8 from Paraguay, 6 from Peru, 4 from Uruguay, 2 from Bolivia and 87 from
Argentina) with a total of 700 players participated. The games got started with
the players' pledge given by the oldest competitor Shichiro Koike (94). Although
the weather was unfortunately rainy, the players, though soaked, played their
best. The winner was the local Argentine team and the runner-up the Paraguayan
