The tournament with 4 local selected teams and 2
Japanese teams was held in Manila City.
About 300 persons are enjoying to play gateball in Manila City. The MKLL (name
of the meaning "Loving Grandpa and grandma") Foundation and the elderly person
welfare section in the city are managing "Manila Gateball League" in Manila City.
Last month, 12th - 15th in April, the World Gateball Union (WGU) visited to
Philippines with 17 staff and gateball players to promote gateball by the cooperation
of the Philippine Embassy in Japan.
The Tournament of "Japanese-Philippine GTBL Friendly Games" was held
by the MKLL Foundation in Manila City. Regarding the results, a local selected
men's team won this Tournament. The Japanese team got the second prize.
Also WGU had a meeting with the Manila Sports Council of the City and exchanged
information each other.
After Friendly games, the Director of the MKLL Foundation Ms. Celia Rowland
said "I hope to continue the fine relationship and enjoy gateball together."
The selected team in Manila City is a young generation's team.
The banners of the friendship games were hung here and there in
the city.
