The 4th Australian GTBL Championships gathered from Japan (1team), Korea (3),
Chinese Taipei (2), Paraguay (1), and Australia (9) by 16 teams of the maximum
number in the past from 5 countries and region, was held by Australian GTBL Promotions
(AGP) organizing at Mosman Croquet Club in Mosman City, Sydney suburbs, at the
both day of November 2, 3, 2005.
By a long-cherished aspiration of the AGP, the World GTBL Union Academic Director's
of Takashi Ono visit to Australia is achieved in the Championship this time. Director
Ono won a gold medal as a gymnast at the Melbourne Olympics (1956), and also in
Australia such as sports museums in local, it was existence that left the name,
and the Championship inside was remarkable as the souvenir picture was requested
by many player Australia.
The championship is a method for two blocks of the league game first of all, and
then to do a best of three games final with block winners. Though all of participation
from other countries and region were big surprised at the reached going wonderful,
natural lawn of the management experienced for the first time, a GTBL technique
each other and the strategy were announced without reserve while enjoying the
court condition in which the ball controlled easily whenever the game was done
repeatedly each other, and a lot of exciting games were developed. As a result,
the winner was team "Chinese Taipei" and the runner up became "South Korea 2"
team as for the victory.
The President Dawson and the National Director GTBL, McLeod of the AGP talked,
"It wants to be going to execute a lot of international matches with foreign
countries in the future, to aim at the synergy effect of the GTBL skill improvement
and the player expansion, and to achieve the spread in state all domestic. Moreover,
it looks forward to reunion with a GTBL lover all over the world in the participation
schedule in Korea of next year done World GTBL Championship."
The next Australian GTBL Championship is a holding schedule in 2007. A detailed

To say honesty, the Australian GTBL is dubious before visit to Australia for us.
But, as for us playing together and saw many young players, our minds were changed
that future growth is the pleasure.
Especially, the high technology where you cultivated in GB environment and the
croquet which are favored is done practically, it was accustomed to the forward
feeling that we could not have been defeated.

"May I, just GTBL beginner, participate?" But the locale is welcomed
though it was participation gracious feelings by wiping out the uneasiness warmly.
And, a game with a Japanese team was pleased, it was confirmed to it that the
time of bliss was spent in bright sportsmanship after the earnestness that tried
to be won and the game over and the given environment, and GTBL was the best for
a cultural exchange, and became wonderful memories of mine. |
