New GB Friends is born in Cebu, the Philippines.
“The Philippines and Japan Friendly GB Practice”

The Philippines and Japan Friendly GB games was held for the first time on last December 2 in Mandaue City, Cebu island of The Philippines. Cebu Island is very famous for its beautiful beach. 18 Japanese players and the local 28 players participated in.
This Match was held by Department of Tourism, Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines to celebrate the 50th year of friendship between both countries.
Last October WGU staffs visited this city and taught GB to senior people of
Mandaue City. It started and new GB friends were born.
Games were held by tournament system of two parts.
Players of the Philippines were beginners, but they enjoyed GB very much.

Japanese famous team “kenshokai” took part in, too. And they taught GB to new friends.
Team captain Taichi Nakamura of “Kenshokai”said, “I feel it's hard to promote GB in the place where GB is not known to people. I had a good experience here.”

18 persons participated in from Ibaraki, Tochigi, Saitama, Tokushima, and Kagoshima Prefectures of Japan.
