About 100 persons of Seniors Association in Manila took GB lesson in Rizal Park.

There are about 300 GB players in Manila City in the Philippines.
GB promotion started in Cebu City.
WGU took this chance of promoting GB cooperating with the Department of Tourism and the Philippine Retirement Authority.
WGU visit the Manila City and Cebu City with GB players of Tokyo GB Union last December.

In Manila Japan Gateball Union made Gateball exhibition. Local people are very interested in GB.

The Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA), supporting foreigners for long stay in the Philippines, is making effort to promote GB in the Philippines. PRA is now helping 1,400 Japanese persons to stay for a long time in the Philippines. On the other hand the Japanese association is organized in the Philippine. From now on World GB Union is planning GB promotion through these organizations in the Philippines.
Armin Santos, Governor of the Philippine Retirement Authority said strongly, “GB is good for Japanese staying in the Philippine to develop a friendship with Filipino and also good for healthcare.Also I want to send Philippine teams to next the 5th Asian GB Championships.”
There are about 300 players, mainly Seniors Association in Manila City now.
WGU held a GB lecture and exhibition in Rizal Park, Manila City on December 15, 2007. About 100 persons took part in it. Many Manila City citizens gathered to watch it.

Cebu City

Local Mandaue teams, the Japanese association teams and Tokyo GB teams take part in “the 2nd Japan- Philippine Friendly GB Games”.

As World Gateball Union had executed gateball course in Cebu in 2006, about 20 person of the Mandaue Seniors Association that the interested in gateball came to practice independently every day.
It inspired Japanese association of Cebu.
Last July they started to play GB with the Seniors Association. Now Local university women students has joined it and “Japanese GB Club in Cebu” is organized. They play GB twice a week.
"2nd Friendship GB Game” was held on in Cebu City on December 16 last year.
New GB courts were constructed by Mandaue Government. The Games was witnessed by Mayer of Mandaue City and the Provincial Board Members of Cebu City.
Having participated is 3 Philippine teams, 3 Japanese Association teams and 3 Japanese teams.
In the Games, the scene that a Philippine team breaks a Japanese team from the first match was seen.

“The 2nd Friendship Games” was successful.
