The commemoration international friendship Gateball Championships on 100th Brazilian Japanese immigrant anniversary was held on July 5-6 in Sao Paulo city, Brazil. This Championships is also to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Brazil Gateball Union. A total of 106 teams participated in.? 92 local teams from Brazil, 3 teams from Argentina, 6 teams from Paraguay, 2 teams from Uruguay, 1 team from USA and 2 teams from Japan.
Games divided into two classes, Middle Class (below 70 years old) and senior class (over 70). The preliminary league games was done first, and the winner team of each court advanced to the final tournament. Japan teams advanced to the final tournament, but they were defeated at the second round. However, Japanese teams showed excellent strategy and tactics. This time many young local teams participated in this Championships. They overwhelmed another country teams by excellent technique and the strategy. As a result, in both classes the victories were Brazilian teams.

About 4000 GB members around Sao Paulo City.? 24 branches and 190 clubs.
It accounts for 99% of the member by the Japanese person. About 3000 referees are registering.

About 300 members are on the register (Argentine is about 20 people) , almost Japanese persons.
The Association holds friendship games on the second Sunday every month. The games are separated in 70 years old.
The Association is planning “the 20th Association Anniversary Games in October this year. |

The association was established about 25 years ago. Members are about 200 people.
Most are Japanese persons, and Paraguayans are about ten people.
About 60% of members are over 60 years old players. The number of GB players are increasing in the Rapas city, Japanese migration place. |
