China-Japan Youth GB Match
Japanese youth GB players visit Beijing Sport University (BSU) and have friendly GB match with the students of BSU.

On May 28-29 Japan-China Youth Friendly Gateball match, which was supported by Chinese GB association and International Center of BSU, was held at Beijing Sport University (BSU) in Beijing, China.
Last year Mr. Jin Xiaoping, Director of International Center of BSU asked Japan Gateball Union to hold a friendly GB meet with Japanese gateball players. JGU agreed with it quickly.
The introduction of gateball into China started in 1982. Subsequently, gateball quickly spread all over China.
China currently has more than 10 million players and is the world's largest gateball nation.
Initially, gateball was encouraged as a healthy activity for the elderly, but in recent years efforts have been put into promoting it to young people and those in their 30's and 40's. From 1998, efforts have also concentrated on developing junior players.
Therefore BSU and JGU planed the GB Meet of young players between two countries.
The coachers who have experience of gateball, professors and a retirement teachers at BSU taught the gateball to BSU students, and then, Chinese Gateball Association cooperated and youth generation's gateball exchange was realized after all.
23 students from BSU and 16 Japanese students participated in this Meet.
At the first day, both China and Japan organize each of three teams, and played in a league.
Japanese teams showed the skills and the strategy, that players who were experiencing the class victory of nationwide junior championships in Japan.
The exchange game with local gateball payers in the friendship game in China and Japan by the mixture team was done, and the friendship was deepened very much on the second day.
Starting with this exchange, the skill of gateball will be sure to advance in a wonderful environment of BSU though BSU student's level did not reach at the level of the youth generation in Japan still. |
