Due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, the 8th Asia Gateball Championship, which had been scheduled to take place in Shenzhen, China, in 2020, was postponed until FY2021. However, as countries around the world have been forced to continue taking a variety of emergency measures, entry bans and travel restrictions have made it impossible for us to make concrete plans for dispatching teams.

In the face of this unprecedented pandemic, member organizations also face numerous challenges, such as the need to implement infection prevention measures to ensure the highest level of safety at domestic competitions.

In light of these circumstances, it is with the utmost regret that we have decided to postpone the 8th Asia Gateball Championship until 2024, the year the 9th Asia Gateball Championship would have been held.

For the time being, the Chinese Gateball Association will remain in charge of the event as originally planned, and discussions on host city and event dates will continue.
