The Thai Gateball Union(TGU) joins the WGU
The 18th official member of World Gateball Union(WGU)!
The Thai Gateball Union’s membership of WGU was officially approved by the WGU’s 57th Board of Directors Meeting in January 2022.

In 2012, the Thai Gateball Union was founded by Dr. Prachon Kingminghae. Mr. Prachon Kingminghae learned Gateball and experienced its charms in Okayama Prefecture, Japan, where he studied abroad.
After returning to Thailand, he began spreading Gateball in his hometown of Udonthani City.
He began to build the organization of Gateball in Thailand.
In 2012, the Thai GateBall Union held “the Masters International GB Tournament” in Bangkok. In the same year, the first Thai International Gateball Championship was held. And until 2019, the tournament was held every year.
And TGU was continuing vigorous activities, inviting GB players not only from Asia but also from Europe and the United States.
Also in 2014, Thailand teams participated in the 11th World Gateball Championship held in Niigata. In 2017 and 2018, TGU dispatched Thailand teams to international competitions held in China and Taiwan.

After Dr. Prachon Kingminghae passed away in 2021, the eldest daughter Ms. Kulpalee Phongjesada took over the position of the President and applied for membership in WGU, which Dr. Prachon Kingminghae had longed for, and has been approved.
The future of the TGU is expected to be more and more active.
